Hi Ryan – I’ve now disabled trackbacks which should solve the problem. I also re-scanned the queue of comments/trackbacks with the new anti-spam plugin and it seems to have done a good job cleaning it up. Let us […]

Hi Ryan, I think we’re starting to attract a bit more attention from spammers unfortunately. I have installed a plugin which should help reduce this, and I’m considering turning off trackbacks for this reason. In […]

The belayer may be in a position to drop more gear down the rope. The belayer may also be able to tie off the second and drop a loop of rope down if there is enough slack.

It also depends how long one of the prussiks is, if it is a long one it couple initally be used as a foot loop to get weight off the rope and enable an initial stand up, the…[Read more]

I was thinking of something like pitch 6 on Hotel California. If the second fell before he/she reached a draw on the traverse, the belayer wouldn’t be able to get any extra gear or rope down. 2 normal length prussiks tied some distance above the waist rope tie-in, would be way too high to get a foot in and I can’t imagine any gymnastic way it…[Read more]

I was wondering how a second would self rescue if he/she fell over a void ? … and assuming the leader can’t get a second rope to the second. I can’t see how it could be done with just 2 prussiks. I think 3 is needed. Any ideas ?

Tony B, the cave is near by the old picnic point crag, If you follow the paths past the picnic point crag down the river you’ll see it on your left through the scrub, maybe after a hundred metres or less. it’s […]
